He studied at the School of Architecture of the Università degli Studi di Palermo (Italy). Interested in urbanism, in 2003 he started an undergraduate degree in Territorial, Urban and Environmental Planning.Having won an Erasmus scholarship, he also studied at the Universidad de Navarra (Spain), where he benefited from the stimulating international context and where he had the chance to collaborate with Prof. J. Luque Valdivia. He concluded his undergraduate degree with a thesis titled “Local Agenda 21: the Pamplona experience” (Tutor: Prof. I. Pinzello).Fascinated by landscape and environmental issues, he then pursued a two-year Master of Science in Landscape Ecology and Planning at the Università degli Studi di Palermo, completing this with the thesis: “The Northern Imera River: a territorial welding” (Tutor: Prof. I. Pinzello).On obtaining a professional qualification, in 2008 he entered the profession with Urbani & Associati, an Architectural and Urban Planning Office in Palermo. He then joined Milan at “Architettura Paesaggio”, a Landscape Architectural Office headed by G. Garrone and F. Soro, and at “DRME” office, headed by U. Dubini, A. Risari and F. Melzi d’Eril.He recently completed a PhD in “Urban and Regional planning” at the University of Palermo (Italy) focused on the integration of landscape and environmental considerations in spatial planning instruments (Tutor: Prof. G. Trombino). This was based on looking at various methods of assessment used in Italy and Spain (Catalunya) in order to implement the SEA European Directive.
