About Fabio Solari
My research activity concerns the study of visual perception with the aim to develop computational models of cortical vision processing, to devise novel bio-inspired computer vision algorithms, and to design virtual and mixed reality environments for natural interaction and ecological visual stimulation. In particular, I'm interested in the following topics: - Computational models of neural architectures, mainly in the dorsal stream of the visual cortex.- Algorithms for motion and depth computation, and for space-variant processing.- Software tools for the simulation of robotic vision systems and for the real-time processing of complex visual descriptors.- Analysis of the effects of virtual and augmented reality systems on the visual perceptions of users.- Development of natural interaction in virtual and augmented reality environments.Specialties: Biologically inspired computer vision; machine vision; virtual reality; augmented reality; visual perception
