Since my first computer science course at university, I developed a strong interest in how impactful computers are in solving engineering problems. My passion for numerical simulations fully emerged during my MSc thesis work, where i studied Magnetohydrodyinamics systems by means of the OpenFOAM code. Currently, I work as a Research Fellow in the field of nuclear reactors decommissioning and my interest shifted to Monte Carlo simulations. I published an article related to the topic where I developed an algorithm to enhance the capability of the FLUKA code to simulate nuclear reactor-like systems. As a part-time job, I'm also a freelance developer; I collaborated with Berthold Italia to create an algorithm for fast recognition of radioactive isotopes from measures generated by radiometric portals. Apart from my working experience, I think that my strenght resides in my passion. Whenever I have some free time during my work, I find some Computer Science topics to learn; for example, in the time between the end of my studies and the beginning of my job, I approached the field of Machine Learning, moved only by my own curiosity. In general, I consider myself very flexible when solving problems related to programming and numerical calculus. I find these like big riddles which can be solved every time with the right amount of creativity.
