Consulting, outsourcing and technology-intensive operational projects through collaborations with lawtechs and legaltechs. Regulatory compliance, data protection (GDPR and LGPD) and implementation of methodologies centred on environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues.

Responsible for promotion, coordination, management and execution of projects related to co-sourcing, outsourcing and restructuring of legal departments, compliance programs implementation, as well as improvement of internal controls, cost reductions and values recovery (including: redemption of judicial cash deposits, substitution of judicial guarantees, review of external providers contracts), with use of technological tools.

Development and implementation of corporate structures with focus on tax issues. Consultancy at tax procedures, special regimes, M&A and corporate structures.

Tax auditor and advisor. Responsible for tax reviews, cost reduction projects, tax recovery, resources management, tax planning, among others.

Main activities: - Through staff that reports directly or indirectly and those external to Tax at area of influence, manage the overall effective and efficient operation of Tax Litigation in Brazil. Member of Brazil Tax Leadership Team, setting strategic direction for Country Tax Team. Reports to Latam Regional Tax Manager. Responsible for team of three tax advisers, one paralegal and one trainee. Participation at several project teams as Project Lead. - Manage of all tax litigation case load related to Shell businesses in Brazil, including upstream, downstream (fuels and lubricants) and chemical cases. Engage and oversee third party legal intermediaries hired to handle litigation cases in Brazil. - Responsible to manage authority reviews of taxes by Brazilian fiscal authorities, responding to inspections and requests, coordinating related activities with tax compliance staff and providing support to controllers in dealing with authorities. - Implementation of mitigation plans to reduce value and quantity of exposures, including applying for settlements or amnesties. Lead negotiations to use of precatorio bonds at Rio de Janeiro State amnesty, resulting in substantial material benefits (additional reduction of 30% over amnesty original cost). Obtained several relevant favorable decisions at administrative and judicial courts as of result of applying strategies developed in collaboration with team and third parties. - Leader of project aiming at substitution of judicial bank guarantees for less expensive options. Participates at GETAP efforts on changes at Tax Execution Law. - Revision of external law firms contracts, negotiating to obtain better conditions. Implemented new model for hiring third parties, concentrating on pre-selected firms and conditions, resulting in reduction of original fees. - Leader of project on tax audits response improvement. This project won Brazil Finance Leadership Team Award for 2014 as best finance project of the year.

- Management of litigation team of 4 lawyers and 3 trainees, from Rio de Janeiro, performing in all national territory. Coordination of lawyers and correspondent offices in several Brazilian states, with emphasis on Federal District, São Paulo, Bahia, Pernambuco and Alagoas. - Responsible for direct engagement with corporate clients in areas of construction, industry (petrochemical, mining, ethanol, pharmaceutical and others), services (medical clinics, outsourcing, motor vehicles sales, hotels and others), finances and insurance. - Elaboration of petitions and appeals on legal and administrative levels, mainly on tax issues. Presentation of briefs and oral arguments in Courts of Justice in many states of the Federation, Superior Court of Justice and Supreme Federal Court. - Legal advice to companies in Federal District (Brasilia) and States of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Espirito Santo, Rio Grande do Sul, Bahia and Alagoas. Elaboration of acts and opinions, with emphasis in Tax Law (federal fees and indirect and direct taxes) and Administrative areas (bids – public licitations).
