Managed research activities on project NCHRP 15-57 – "Development of HCM methodologies for analysis of corridors that include freeways and surface street facilities" (P.I: Dr. Lily Elefteriadou). Performed the following key activities: - Developed new methodologies to evaluate congestion between different facilities and to evaluate trips with specific origin and destination points;- Developed and executed a Data Collection Plan; performed strong interface with DOTs nationwide to collect and analyze traffic data from diverse sources, such as RITIS, PeMS, HERE, INRIX; performed calibration of developed models with field data;- Coordinated and supervised the work of undergraduate and other graduate students on data collection, reduction and analysis;- Coordinated efforts with McTrans Center at UF to implement a new software tool to analyze the performance of individual lanes on Freeway Facilities (HCM methodology);- Developed progress reports and presentations for the client agency (NCHRP Panel) and the TRB Highway Capacity and Quality of Service Committee.Teaching Assistant for the Urban Streets Simulation graduate course – simulation basics on urban intersections with commercial tools such as VISSIM, CORSIM, Transmodeler and AIMSUM.

Engineer Intern, supporting the Transportation team on the following key tasks:- Traffic Studies: future demand forecasting, trip generation and distribution; intersection impact analysis with HCS/Synchro for key performance measures (LOS, delay, queues); signal timing optimization; signal warrant analysis; access management analysis; improvement recommendations;- Cost estimates for bidding on transportation projects (infrastructure, signal plans, road signaling etc, according to FDOT standards);-Cost-benefit analysis for safety improvements.

Project management on S11D Logistics Program (550km of rail construction). Performed the following key activities:- Project controls: developed action project plans identifying key dates and resources requirements, prepared and analyzed schedules, executive reporting, productivity control, physical progress control, tracking of key milestones;- Managed contractors and inspected project sites to monitor progress, being directly involved on the completion of 30 miles of rail segments;- Led a task force to develop project preliminary planning using FEL methodology (Front-End-Loading), to be approved by the company´s Executive Board prior to project start;- Developed procurement documentation (RFPs, SOW, quantities sheets, etc.) and technical analysis of bid proposals for several contractors up to U$ 300M ; - Budget (CapEx) management (> US$ 1 B): involved in budget elaboration, controlling, forecasting and executive reporting;
