I acquired experience assisting pharmacists in different specialties or areas of the hospital such as Pharmacy Operations, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Operating Room, Neuroscience, Pediatrics, IV Room, and the Main In-patient pharmacy. While rounding through all the specialties of the hospital I gained experience with the electronic health record system used by the hospital, Cerner Millennium. Collaborated with pharmacists on interprofessional rounds and discharge rounds to provide information on dosing, patients’ health status, medications, plan of action, and resources after discharge. Learned and followed the pharmacist prescription verification process in different specialties and areas of the hospital and mastered compounding policies and procedures. In addition, assisted the internal medicine pharmacist with vancomycin and warfarin consults. The hospital rotation as a pharmacy intern taught me how to communicate effectively with an interprofessional team, attention to detail, and being able to adapt to the different roles of a pharmacist in a hospital.

Gained experience with prescription entry, filling, dispensing, inventory maintenance, and patient counseling. I strengthened my skills of communication with patients and healthcare professionals while understanding the process of billing and insurance verification, mastered over-the-counter medication recommendations, as well as chronic disease management and medication therapy management. The rotation helped me to master customer service and time management skills while introducing me to the community pharmacy workflow.

Performed documentation in the EHR, gathered information for the patient's visit, and partnered with the physician to deliver effective patient care. Gained experience with the electronic health record system used by the clinic, EPIC. In addition, taught and trained newly hired scribes and helped them transition into partnering with an assigned physician. Completed all administrative tasks efficiently and helped the physician to order tests and medications. Performed other clerical duties and tasks to improve provider productivity and clinic workflow.

Aided in coordinating private lessons, volleyball clinics, and scheduling group practice sessions. Facilitated and supervised training sessions and individual workouts while ensuring that each player was mentally and physically fit to participate in the sports program. After practices and competitions, I monitored and evaluated the performance of players and provided appropriate feedback. I was able to build a positive and achievement-oriented team environment while supporting and reinforcing the head coach to deliver quality coaching. Maintained records of players, training sessions, games, performance statistics, and equipment. Lastly, prepared and maintained players' files while ensuring the players followed all the rules.

In this experience, I lead the overall supervision of 25+ campers ranging from ages 6 to 17 with the aim of providing a healthy, safe, and enjoyable environment. Coordinated different indoor and outdoor activities for campers while ensuring their safety and attending to their needs as a group and individually.
