- Synthesis of geopolymers from both natural raw materials (i.e. volcanic ash) and industrial waste (i.e. blast furnace iron slags) in partnership with the University of Messina.- Results were published in "IOP Conference Series Materials Science and Engineering" in 2020.- Presentation of the project at the workshop "Functional Materials for Cultural Heritage 2019” (Fun4Heritage).

Research topics: environmental geochemistry, archeometry and both metamorphic and igneous petrology applied to industry and cultural heritage.Analysis of igneous/metamorphic rocks and asbestos thin sections with optical microscope, X-Ray (XRF, XRD) and IR.Teaching of the 6-months course: "GIS e Softwares Professionali" (Geographic Information System applied to hydrogeological risk mitigation).3 scientific articles were published in international journals.

• Preparation, in partnership with the Commune of Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, of a Plan for Hydrogeological Asset using ArcGIS, QGis and AutoCAD Map 3D. The work includes field data acquisition (landslides and disruptions) using handheld (with associated ArcPad software).

• Main project: Digitisation in Linux and Windows platforms of >80 seismic lines on the Bay of Biscay and Apulia areas in order to characterize the subsurface geologic structures present on the area.• Identification of a potential petroleum system through seismic interpretation using OpendTect software.

• Microanalitic analysis on >10 magmatic rocks (basalts) using a EDX-coupled SEM. Ppm detection of Mg, Fe, Ca, Na and K.• Responsible for the thin sections preparation of 20 rock samples to perform both SEM and petrographic analysis.
