I am computer science researcher with large experience in creating innovative solutions to complex and large data management and design problems. I currently hold a temporary Inria International Chair position and continue as a Senior Researcher at LNCCAt LNCC, i head the DEXL Lab, focused in research and development activities around large data sets analysis and management. Currently, we are working with data coming from: Oil and gaz; astronomy; and numerical simulation. We are developping SAVIME, an In-memory, multidimensional array DBMS for real time analytics, supporting declarative query language, query optimization and output visualization. SAVIME was inspired by SCIDB, but designed for real-time applications, see our VLDB2016 paper. With Petrobras, we are developping Gypscie, a Machine Learning data and model Management system. Gypscie was built upon UpsilonDB, see our VLDB2014 paper.I hold a PhD in Informatics from PUC-Rio with sandwich period at INRIA-Rocquencourt, and worked as a posdoc at EPFL, Switzerland, from 2004 and 2009.I was the general Co-chair of the 44th Int'l Conference on Very Large Data Bases (VLDB), held in Rio de Janeiro, in August 2018.I speak and write fluently in: English, French and Portuguese (native)
