My research is centered on investigating the complex interplay between digital technologies and organizational dynamics. I am committed to using real-world case studies as a source of inspiration and empirical evidence in my studies.

I have served as a lecturer (adjunct professor) in Information Systems for both the BSc Management Engineering and Computer Science Engineering programs. I have taught a range of courses including: Information Systems (for 19 years), Corporate Information Systems, Business Processes, Business Information Technology , Information Systems Architecture.

My applied research activity revolved around two main areas: developing and managing funded research projects and providing consultancy services to companies in the domain of digital innovation.In the domain of funded research projects, I have been actively involved in various initiatives funded by the European Commission. These include projects such as Artcast4D (Horizon Europe), focused on leveraging immersive technologies in cultural heritage, AI-SPRINT (H2020), aimed at designing a novel framework for the design and operation of AI applications in computing continua, CRIMSON (H2020), dealing with bio-photonics imaging in healthcare and novel approaches to personalised therapy.I have participated in research projects addressing food policies (FOOD TRAILS, H2020), optical networks (PASSION, H2020), cube sats for high-energy astrophysics (HERMES-SP, H2020). I designed and developed training programs and certification systems of digital skills through the ERASMUS+ projects DIS-CODE and PICTET. Overall I participated in 30+ research projects funded at EU level.On the consultancy front, I have guidede and executed transformative initiatives for several organizations, ranging large enterprises (Pirelli, Pirelli Real Estate, Fiera di Milano, ENEL, CIRFood), SMEs (COSTER Group, Fava, Enervit, Baltur), public bodies (Regione Lombardia, Comune di Milano, Provincia Autonoma di Bolzano, Provincia di Perugia), research institutions (Human Technopole, ISZLER), conducting ICT assessments to orchestrating Business Process Reengineering and digital transformations.

I teach Management Information Systems in several MBA classes at POLIMI Graduate School of Management. At vocational level I held courses and seminars on Web/Internet technologies, Enterprise Architecture, and digital strategy for leading organisations, including Pirelli, CAV Concessioni Autostradali Venete, Unicredit, IlSole24Ore, Banca d’Italia.

In the period 2020 - 2022 I was visiting lecturer at the Higher School of Economics (Moscow). I thought in the courses of Management Information Systems and digital transformation in 2020-2021. I was responsible for the course of Management and Innovation of e-Business in 2021-2022. The courses were part of the joint degree HSE - London School of Economics.

Expert evaluator of project proposal submitted for funding under the Horizon 2020 Programmes. Overall I participated in the evaluation of 300+ project proposals.

I was one of the founding partners of the company and remained a shareholder until 2010, by which time the company had grown to employ approximately 100 people, with offices in three countries. The company developed and implemented the digital skills certification system (ECDL, EUCIP certifications) that became leader in the Italian market, installed in over 1.000 test centers. Over the years the company’s business model gradually evolved towards a project-oriented business, providing consulting services for digital innovation and delivering personalised digital solutions through an agile development approach. In 2023 the company was acquired by the Adesso Group.
