I have an academic background in architecture and building science, having practised building science/façade design for the past twelve years and my experience includes a balance between existing buildings and new construction. Working directly with owners, architects, and industry my primary goal is to be collaborative and to develop custom, cost effective, energy efficient and durable solutions.If you are an architect or a building owner, I can help you design the "skin", or cladding of your building, or help you design a repair solution for cladding that has degraded and is in need of maintenance. I am experienced with various types of building science or building physics analysis, such as: Heat loss (U value/R value) calculations; Dew point analysis (including use of WUFI). I am also experienced with building envelope detailing, tendering/procurement, contract administration, field reviews, field and laboratory testing, building envelope commissioning (BECx, NIBS Guideline 3, CSA Z320, CSA S478), curtain wall design, brick masonry, metal cladding, thermally broken cladding, rain screen wall design, below grade waterproofing, vegetated green roofs, fluid applied waterproofing, roofing including FM Global requirements, infrared thermography (IR scanning), air leakage testing, water penetration testing, leak detection, and much much more!
