Frank De Vito is an experienced real estate and finance attorney, serving as counsel to lenders, borrowers, developers, landlords and tenants in a broad range of commercial transactions. He is a Partner at Verrill Dana LLP. Prior to Rackemann, Sawyer & Brewster combining with Verrill on January 1, 2022, Frank was the Managing Director of Rackemann, Sawyer & Brewster. Frank is experienced in all types of financing transactions, including construction and permanent loans, senior and mezzanine financings, multistate portfolio loans, syndicated loans, lines of credit, revolving loans, intercreditor arrangements, securitized loans, loan restructurings, workouts and foreclosures. He also has extensive experience in leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, sale-leaseback transactions, commercial condominiums and zoning and permitting matters.Frank contributes a real estate column, entitled "Frank Talk," to The Real Reporter, a Boston-area industry journal on commercial property and capital news. He is also the author of "Documenting Complicated Commercial Real Estate Transactions," a chapter in Drafting Commercial Real Estate Documents published by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education.In addition to his practice, Frank is active in professional and charitable organizations. He is currently on the Council of the Boston Bar Association, which sets all of the BBA's policies, makes major financial decisions and provides oversight on behalf of the members. Since 2020, he has served on the BBA Council's Executive Committee. In 2019, he became a Fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys (ACMA). In 2020, he was inducted into The Abstract Club, an organization founded over 135 years ago comprised of lawyers who are considered leaders in the real estate community. Frank has served as Co-Chair of the Real Estate Section of the Boston Bar Association and Co-Chair of the Real Estate Finance Committee of the Boston Bar Association's Real Estate Section. He is a past Board member of the Real Estate Finance Association (REFA) and he is a past member of the Government Affairs Committee of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board. He has served as the Governor's appointee on the Board of Directors of the Franklin Park Zoo and the Stone Zoo.
