Assessment of Building Plans: Review and assess building plans and specifications under Construction and Complying DevelopmentCertificates to ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and standards.Issuing Building Permits: Grant building permits and approvals after verifying that the proposed Construction meets all legal and safety requirements. During the final inspections, issue occupancy or completion certificates for buildings that meet all regulatory and safety requirements.Site Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections during Construction to ensure compliance with approved plans, safety standards, and building codes.

- Process and consider information provided in the Annual Fire Safety Statements- Provide the Council with advice regarding combustible cladding and fire safety compliance within the Cumberland local government area.- Undertake enforcement proceedings, including issuing Notices, Orders and Directions,Penalty Notices or Court proceedings for non-compliance with provisions of relevant legislation- Provide guidance and assistance to staff on interpretation of building requirements and assessment procedures.- Undertake fire safety and combustible cladding inspections as required

- Ensuring compliance and assessment with Development Consent, Construction Certificate, Complying Development Certificates and Building Information Certificates.- Applying BCA/NCC and detailed knowledge of construction techniques and materials for internal and external teams.- Undertaking demolition and critical staged inspections as required by development consents to ensure compliance and safety of stakeholders.- Contributing to the team environment, identifying and promoting options for business improvement and providing resolution outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.- Managing competing interests and negotiating outcomes.
