I joined Phoenix-based, NHI Billing Services as Vice President Business Development in December 2005. NHI Billing specializes in out-of-state Medicaid account management for hospitals. Founded in 1996, NHI clients have relied on our focus, experience, efficiency and commitment to customer service which results in fewer denials, increased collections, faster payment turnaround and less administrative work.NHI Billing’s service offering includes eligibility verification, prior authorization notification, provider enrollment (also known as credentialing), electronic claim submission, account follow-up, appeal processing and extensive reporting. In addition, the automation tools built by NHI have proven to reduce client payment turnaround time, increase cash flow from otherwise uncollected or neglected accounts.Out of state Medicaid typically is a very small portion of a hospital’s revenue portfolio but requires disproportionately more administrative resources to collect. NHI relieves the burden from our clients and generates cash flow where heretofore collections have been minimal and difficult to come by.NHI Billing Services was acquired by Scottsdale, Arizona based Centauri Health Solutions in June 2018.

Founded in 2008, Cerco LLC develops tools which automate and facilitate the management of Medicaid accounts. Tools are proven to increase reimbursement, decrease denials and greatly reduce expense.Cerco released its first product called EligibilityReview in 2008. EligibilityReview is a state-of the-art search engine which generates significant revenue for providers by identifying patients with newly established Medicaid benefits as well as patients with retroactive Medicaid eligibility. The operation of EligibilityReview is ground-breaking and the pricing model is extremely appealing to providers for its significant cost-savings. Cerco LLC is working on other tools for the provider community and will release information as the product launch draws near.

I joined Medifax EDI in 1989 and over the years held a variety of positions on the Executive Management Team including Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President Provider Sales and Executive Vice President of Payor Sales. Helped guide the company’s substantial revenue growth. Medifax EDI was positioned as healthcare’s leading eligibility verification service transforming traditional manual processes for healthcare providers into automated and integrated solutions. In addition Medifax EDI helped transform State Medicaid programs from traditional paper process for eligibility identification to magnetically encoded ID cards, saving State Medicaid programs millions in annual postage and printing. Medifax EDI was acquired by WebMD (formerly Emdeon now known as Change Healthcare) in October 2003.
