Led the Android team of 24syv – a Danish tech startup providing audio news and podcasts.Proposed switching to ExoPlayer from using Android Media Player within 2 months of joining. Took ownership of the idea and refactored the whole codebase to use ExoPlayer. It shaped the future of the product, enabling advanced playback control, offline playback, experimental video playback capability and more.Integrated Google Cast on top of ExoPlayer, resulting in user’s convenience and upward user retention on Google Play.Implemented CI/CD pipeline with GitHub Actions, Fastlane, Shell scripts and conventional commit, to provide nightly builds to the QA team and to auto-deploy to Google Play, reducing manual intervention and human error.Improved user retention rate by 5% since joining the team through timely feature delivery, addressing user’s pain points (crashes, slow performance, etc.) and resolving them based on data-driven metrics from Mixpanel, Firebase and Insider.Implemented in-app real-time chatting using Stream’s chat SDK with customized UI, providing users to share feedback while a live show is going on. Developed GO! Traffic, an app providing traffic data (similar to Google traffic data on Maps) to Dhaka city-dwellers. The app was the first of its kind at that time in Bangladesh and had a huge impact on users, helping them avoid traffic congestion. Shipped the app to production within 4 months of joining the startup. Single-handedly developed the app — brainstorming, implementing features, bug fixing and shipping to production — all within tight deadlines and requiring minimum or no supervision at all.Led side projects for the company, going above and beyond my responsibilities to help the company make profit.
