Team Leadership & Internal Communication:In the last couple of years, I spearhead strategic internal communications initiatives, fostering a culture of transparency and inclusivity at my current role. To cultivate a workplace environment where discrimination based on race, gender, sexuality, or disability is actively challenged and eradicated. This is practiced beyond internal teams, and external communications with clients and customers - aiming to foster a genuine sense of belonging and psychological care for all team members.Training, studying and working on emotional intelligence practices outside of work has allowed me to advise and implement the importance of discussing and practicing anti-Racism, and pro Trans and non-Binary rights in work place best practices. Particularly my focus is on the needs to support and advocate for Black and non-Black people of colour. Whilst work has enabled me the platform to practice, and implement internal comms best practices - it's been in my own personal life that things like therapy, research, attending events etc has exponentially increased my desire to develop effective strategies to acknowledge, identify and accomodate neurodiversity, cultural implications, depression, anxiety, chronic pain etc. Which has all has a trickle down effect in actioning how to boost morale amongst team members through regular meetings to share validation and appreciation, to encourage accountability, drive and initiative. Ensuring all team members are heard and have their say if they need; suggestions, feedback, requests, needs, worries etc. Most recently, I'm quite proud of finding and reading the work of Marshall Rosenberg on; Non Violent Communication. It has helped incredibly with communication in and outside of work. I've been working remotely for so long now, some times I forget what it's like to work in an official space! But I do miss the face to face interactions, the lunching with clients or team members. So I make sure I'm out as often as I can be particularly in queer spaces. This is healing for me and grounds me to reality. World is changing so fast, and is on fire as we type. I want to work towards my purpose and the collective desire for change and a free Palestine, Congo, Sudan, Kashmir - I'm still on route to finding it but I think I'm on the right path.
