Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) is one of many agricultural biomass produced from palm oil plantations. EFB has been identified to be a feasible raw material for production of bio-products that range from energy, chemicals, and materials. Although it has been once considered as a low value agricultural residue, technological advances started to convert this biomass into numerous types of bio-based products. The scenario has created considerable amounts of enterprising companies to venture these waste-to-wealth businesses throughout country. In order to provide the good planning and operation of EFB utilization to the prospective companies, several optimization models have been developed in this research. The research objectives include:- Created a biomass supply chain superstructure model of EFB for multi-products production.- Performed a superstructure optimization of biomass supply chain to produce high profitable bio-products with respect to the best economic decisions including processing facilities selection, transportation modes decision, and environmental criteria by using mixed integer nonlinear programming (MINLP). -
