Senior Islamic Finance Specialist
Leading technical assistance and advisory projects in IsDB Member and selected non-Member States (portfolio of 10+ Countries) for the development of their Islamic finance industry. I am enlisted in the Monetary and Capital Markets (MCM) department’s database of short-term experts as an advisor in the area of Islamic banking financial soundness indicators and macro-stress tests. I undertook three on-field technical assistance missions to the IMF’s Centre of Economics and Finance in Kuwait, to train Arab League Member States regulatory and supervisory authorities on Islamic banking financial soundness indicators and macro-stress testing. I have been myself trained by the IMF staff on macro-stress testing exercises, including IMF’s first-generation macro-stress testing [2007], next-generation macro-stress testing [2012] and most recent the Workbox [2016] macro-stress testing tools, utilised by the IMF in its Financial Sector Assessment Programmes (FSAP).
