Duties and Responsibilities include:Overall planning of audits, conducting initial planning meetings with clients to understand and develop expectations and designing strategies in consultation with the Engagement Manger and Partner.Application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Technical Standards and Local Regulatory Requirements.Preparation of final audit deliverables – the audit report, the covering letter to the Board of Directors, the Management Letters.Establishing positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members, through collaboration and communication, and with clients through assisting at technical complex accounting principles during the whole audit process.Review and supervision of the work performed by subordinates throughout the course of audit and resolving audit differences / queries and taking appropriate actions.Consultation on significant matters with various professionals such as lawyers, valuers, tax advisors, actuaries (for Gratuity) and IT experts.Assisting client with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with the applicable financial reporting framework and ensuring compliance with IFRS and directives of regulatory authorities, if any.Implementation of KPMG Audit Methodology with hands on experience at Clara engagement files.

I worked as a Senior in financial services section of Assurance - Audit Services of EY MENA Rapid Innovation, which supports audit engagements across the Dubai region both remotely and through travel to MENA offices. My key responsibilities include the following:1. Participate in audit engagements, working effectively as a team member, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior team members on progress;2. As a senior associate, I was given teams to handle and delegate responsibilities to the members therein. While managing the audit engagements assigned, the role often entails guiding the team members, timely finalization of deliverables, research and application of auditing standards (ISA) and accounting (IFRS) standards that became effective during the year and their applicability on the relevant clients.with increased responsibilities in this role, I was often required to discuss and communicate the Audit observations with the engagement partner and Audit Client's Upper Management to decide how they shall be addressed

As a semi senior audit associate I had more responsibilities being a part of the audit team and representative of KPMG in Pakistan.In this role i was often involved in discussing important matters with the management at audit clients while being actively corresponding with the Firm's management and discussing the matters that needed attention.This role equipped me with the much needed communication skills and i was able to refine them with repeated audit engagements i was assigned during the year.I also found myself often assisting and guiding the entry level associates which allowed me to brush up on the people management skills
