I have been working in the Information Technology and Banking Sector for the past 40 years. I held various senior positions within IBM and in the Banking Sector in USA, Kuwait, Jordan, Syria and Saudi Arabia. Over the years I have managed many large projects and my latest achievements are:• Build, implement and manage a Disaster Recovery Site for the bank with Automatic/Semi Automatic failover for mission critical applications/systems within the Bank Primary Data Center (PDC) and geo-cluster configuration between PDC and the Secondary Data Center (SDC) to ensure no data loss and automatic/semi Automatic failover is provided in case of any incidents that may affect PDC or SDC • Establish, implement and manage a Business Continuity Site (departmental recovery arrangements) to ensure that customer services can be provided irrespective of any incident that may affect the Bank’s ability to function from one, or more of its locations;• Develop and get management approvals for the BCM Strategy, Policy, Framework, Crisis Management Plan, BIA, RA and Annual Test Schedule;• Asses and analyze all Business Continuity & Disaster Recover laws & regulations provided by BASEL, ISO 22301 International standard & Central Bank to ensure that the bank is comply with those laws and regulations;• Identify all the Bank Suppliers and 3rd Party vendors who are critical to the Bank operations and modify their Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) with the Bank to include their role in the event of a crisis and develop KPIs to measure their performance;• Establish Business Continuity Steering Committee, Command Control Center for the Bank Senior Management (War Room) and TWO Operation Command Control Centers, One at the Primary Data Center (PDC) with 20 seats and one at the Secondary Data Center (SDC) with 20 seats to be used by ITD and ISD technical and administration staff in case of any incidents that may affect PDC, SDC and/or the Bank Head Office;• Identify the Banks critical departments/unites and mission critical applications with their RTOs, RPOs and MTPD communicated and accepted by ITD and business, as well as design, implement and test a DRPs & BCPs for those applications & Departments;• Design, implement and test a bank-wide business continuity plan;• Develop an implementation plan (roadmap) to enable the Bank achieve ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management Certification.
