I was responsible for retrieving files from the storage areas in the hospital or from any wards which files may be stored at and then updating the databases. I was required to work as part of a team for an outpatients ward where we would divide our work according to the number of clinics on the day.

I provided support for students by setting them targets and discussing any hurdles that stop them from fulfilling their potential. As a part of my role I developed strategies for studying and general organisation. I also helped with the organising of enrichment activities which are associated with leadership. I also worked with students to achieve the college’s attendance and punctuality targets. I also led AS Mathematics revision workshops, where I helped students who are struggling with the subject. I worked in a team which monitors the progress of students as a whole. I also analysed student’s UCAS personal statement and helped prepare them for higher education and CVs.

• I was responsible for retrieving files from the paper based storage area and then updating the databases• I kept patients updated with appointments through various different means such as post and phone calls.• I gained the responsibility of grouping patients according to the postcode they were from on the database we were using.

• I was involved in a CMS refresh project where the web servers were being changed• My role was to investigate which mass mailing system would integrate best with new server.• I researched what potential mailing systems to look out, by observing and asking employees from different departments what they feel an ideal mailing system is.• I developed a pilot website which I ran alongside the potential mailing systems. I then analysed which mailing system worked best whilst considering other factors such as cost• I evaluated all my findings to write a proposal underlying the cheaper option as the best due to the charities focus on cost cutting• At the end of my internship I produced and presented a presentation to my line manager, department manager and floor manager highlighting my findings alongside what recommendations I had.
