Becton Dickinson is an American Company working in more than 100 countries worldwide in the field of Health Care. www.bd.comI was responsible for the smooth running of country wide IT operations and a reporting to and implementation of policy line from the region.I was responsible for providing 1st and 2nd line desktop support to the users and ensuring that the infrastructure which included Cisco Switches and Juniper Routers & Firewalls and servers were up and running and were fully compliant.We were running Ms Windows 2000 and Windows 2003, Unix, Oracle, IBM Domino and Scala 5.1 on the server side and Windows 2000 and Win XP with Lotus Notes, Scala, Oracle on the client side.

I was hired as Assistant Manger IT for Overseas Block and was promoted twice, first as Manager IT for Lahore Operations and then as Senior Manager IT for the whole of Bahria Town (Pvt) Ltd.I established a LAN / WAN infrastructure throughout Lahore and connected all of the offices in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Karachi and Dubai.My team and I also provided support to users, who were using Win XP, Lotus Notes and Oracle on the client side and Windows 2000, Windows 2003, ISA Server, MS SQL Server, IBM Lotus Domino and Oracle on the server side.I brought up the Data Warehouse and Data Center which will have seating of 16 and will work in 2 shifts to do all the in house data entry and data archiving.

Managed the MIS department with its two sections of “Network Infrastructure Building and Support” and “Software Development”. I had five persons under my guidance who worked for software development and performed support activities.MIS department was raised with my joining and we established a complete Interanet (Win 2K Server, Win 2K Proff, Win 98, MS SQL Server, MS Exchange Server, IIS 5.0, MS ISA Server) solution at the Head Office with more than 30 computers online.We completed and brought online four software packages: General Ledger (Visual Foxpro), Cards Inventory System (VB-Access) and Payroll (VB-SQL Server).The fourth one was a complete Web-Based solution (ASP - SQL Server) for the integration of Technical, Customer Support, Operations, Finance and Accounts department of the company.

Managed the IT department, which included the IT network: based on Windows NT Server, Windows NT Workstation, Windows 2000 Professional and Windows 98.Managed the Internet and e-mail access and functionality through our local area network.Development of accounts, sales, marketing and purchase related software and their integration with the GL, using MS SQL Server with Visual Basic and Visual Foxpro.

Managed the IT department, looked after three different sites, with six persons working under my guidance.
