Worked on three different research teams: • Analyzed qualitative data through narrative writing and coding on research conducted in Kenya on adolescents regarding voluntary male circumcision and HIV/AIDS interventions.• Wrote original analysis on masculinity and risk behavior related to coming of age to be published and contributed to design of pilot intervention in Nyanza, Kenya. • Drafted paper for publication on provider methods of intimate partner violence screening and how they are perceived by patient survivors. • Drafted and submitted supervisor’s proposals to be published in public health journals. • Submitted preliminary findings at annual American Men’s Studies Association Conference and orally presented work at session.

• Orchestrated a diverse set of professional guest lecturers for the course, including invitation, scheduling, and ensuring their materials were available for students in a timely manner.• Attended the scheduled course for three hours and held one office hour each week for students to discuss class topics, projects, and grading. • Available for students promptly via email, and helped multiple students navigate complex assignments, personal situations, academic distress, and the like through scheduled meetings outside of office hours. • Organized and updated online canvas course page, and graded all papers and exams for the course.

Responsible for all editorial content of the paper. Works to manage staff, enforce deadlines, coordinate weekly production and oversee payroll. Charged with hiring, training and maintaining a newspaper staff of 30 individuals, including the conduction of possible terminations. Tested and counseled over 200 foundation clients using the 60 second INSTI antibody blood test while discussing sexual and general health practices at the main facility and off-site testing van. Factually and compassionately provided HIV/AIDS and STD transmission/treatment education. Filed positive syphilis and HIV results to state office. Organized all blood samples and testing materials on and off-site. Distributed harm reduction resources, such as male and female condoms, on and off-site.

Edited and wrote press releases regarding Medicaid aspects of the Affordable Care Act in accordance with Associated Press style. Aided in the response of reporter inquiries. Helped organize presentations and meetings of communication staff. Searched for and filtered national and international news coverage on the Affordable Care Act.

Developed and assigned timely stories. Led a team of five peers, including offering constructive criticism, aiding with writing and managing their time. Layout the first pages of the weekly paper, including editing pieces, arranging stories in an appealing way and fact checking. Some “InDesign” experience. Conduct professional interviews, seek contacts, maintain professional relationships, write concise stories in the Associated Press style. Write anywhere from one to four stories a week, each with at least two interviews and always make deadlines, ensuring an efficient editing process. Headline the school’s 24-page newspaper.
