The Community Advisory Council includes former participants from organizations that GreenLight Fund has funded to bring to the Bay Area, who are able to offer insights on focus areas, understand the GreenLight Fund approach in bringing outside organizations to meet unmet local needs and can offer their experiences as participants in GreenLight Fund work.● Consult on potential focus areas, share experiences, and provide valuable knowledge on local issues. ● Help identify needs in the Bay Area and evaluate potential grantees against these needs. Provide insights into the current need of focus areas in the Oakland area and the likelihood of the focus area achieving significant support in the community.● Active engagement in open dialogues facilitated by GreenLight Fund, providing insights on finalists in each focus area.

Convene for bi-monthly meetings to discuss and outline the specific responsibilities and expectations for incoming cohorts for Genesys Works. Work to align collective efforts, establish clear objectives, and explore strategies to enhance the program's impact.

- Hosting, organizing, and planning presentations, workshops, and social gatherings for those interested in learning more about Filipino history and community - Educating peers in Filipino culture and mental health by engaging in conversations and panels from certified individuals in psychology and ethnic stuidesMission Statement: The Filipino Student Association strives to raise awareness and interest in Filipino culture among City College of San Francisco students. We open our doors to everyone to be part of our Pamilya (family). We also aspire to create an empowering community producing leaders by promoting social gatherings, cultural activities, mental well-being, spiritual conversations, and supporting camaraderie events relevant to Filipino culture.

Paired with mentor at various corporate companies (i.e. Gilead, Chase, Stout banking firm, etc.) to network and improve soft and hard skills. Also involves volunteer hours at Presidio Golfing, Deloitte, and other company functions to encourage volunteer mentors to support the program and potentially coach all star professionals.

Corporate internship to gain experience utilizing data analytics. Work closely with the communications and events team in the Technology department, which spans both Engineering and Business Technology. Assist in running our functional new hire onboarding and training program.

Organizing events through outreach to people within my network to learn more about their career journey and share their experiences with our club members. Events also range from panels, monthly club meetings, volunteer events (i.e. ocean beach clean up), study sessions, etc.

Summer Training for 8 weeks to learn business etiquette and grasp the flow of the work place environment.

Design and facilitating workshops to educate high school community on topics not commonly spoken of like sexual assault, body image, etc.

Learn history of Philippines in order to lead workshops for middle schoolers and adults on taking next steps to normalize conversations with families about mental health.

In this program I learned to build leaderships skills and facilitate peers my own age and older. Inspiring Young Emerging Leaders (IYEL) is a non-profit organization that specializes in social and environmental injustices. I even got the chance to meet the Goldman award winners of each continent before their names were announced to the world.

On Tuesdays or Thursdays, my friends and I would volunteer at our local food bank where we packaged oats into 16 oz bags or sorted spoiled food like bell peppers from into compost bins or boxes.
