Oh Lines Eit - Overhead Distribution Engineering
Current- Prepared layouts, conceptual designs, calculations, and illustration for overhead power distribution projects ranging in voltage from 750V to 35kV.
- Designed non-standard distribution structures and complex long-span cable crossings over navigable water, railways, highways, and high-pressure pipelines.
- Analyzed distribution structures under various loading conditions, conducted conductor galloping, swing and thermal rating studies, using non-linear analysis tools such as PLS-CADD & SpidaCalc in accordance with CSA.
- Conducted aeolian vibration studies and foundation analysis for long-span support structures, liaised with various technical teams to confirm feasibility and directly involved in procurement of construction materials.
- Liaised with key stakeholders and successfully received construction permit approvals and SRW from CN/CPKCR/SRY Rail, Transport/NAV Canada on behalf of BC Hydro. Coordinated with Archaeological and Environmental.
- Managed projects involving the replacement of primary and secondary conductors, design addressed current customer demands and future load growth potential. Performed voltage drop calculations and transformer load.
