Throughout my academic journey, I have developed a deep understanding of the criminal justice system, its foundational principles, and the societal impacts of crime and punishment. My focus lies in areas such as criminal procedure, evidence law, rights of the accused, and the broader implications of criminal statutes in ensuring justice and fairness.My coursework has provided me with a solid foundation in criminal law, where I have explored key concepts such as substantive criminal law, criminal procedure, and criminology.I have had the opportunity to intern with prestigious legal aid organization " National Commission on the Status of Women" at Islamabad where I gained practical experience. Moreover I remained an internee at law office "Shahid Saleem Awan and Associates" My responsibilities included:1. Assisting senior attorneys in criminal defense cases, preparing legal drafts, and conducting thorough case research.2. Observing courtroom proceedings to better understand trial practices, cross-examinations, and the role of evidence in criminal litigation.3. Participating in client interviews, helping gather case details, and providing support in preparing defense strategies.These internships not only sharpened my legal skills but also exposed me to the real-world challenges faced by legal professionals in criminal law.I have attended several seminars, international conferences and workshops on subjects like ADR, Women Rights, Legal Drafting, Earning opportunities through Micro lawyering etcMy goal is to specialize in criminal law, focusing on criminal defense and procedural reform.
