I am currently working as a Humanitarian Data Advisor for the Pulse Lab Jakarta and Data Manager for Humanitarian Data Exchange (HDX). My involvement with these two organizations is mostly related to how the use of humanitarian data can help people to a better response to humanitarian crises. One of the key parts of my involvement with both organizations was to develop a joint project where they were working together to develop an online disaster monitoring platform. The platform is a big data analytics and visualization tool that provide critical and timely insights for natural disaster monitoring, emergency response, and management of earthquake, cyclones, and floods worldwide.Previous to that, I worked with different entities from UN Agencies, NGOs, and also Donor entities. More than 11 years working as an Information Management Officer with the United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Indonesia - not only working in Indonesia but also outside Indonesia as part of my participation on OCHA Emergency Response Roster (ERR) team – OCHA’s central mechanism for the deploying of internal surge during the initial emergency phase. Through times, my work is covering the whole process of Information continuum from collect to disseminate the information. My portfolio is also expanding not only focusing on Information Management but also related to community engagement, assessment, visualization, and Information technology.
