I am an registered counselor in Malaysia, have been working with Tenaganita, a non profit organization for the last 10 years. My works involve managing cases of labor right violation faced by migrant and refugee in Malaysia, community training, managing data base, and conducting research in Labor right violation on two main issues: labor right violation, and Gender based violence ang refugee communities in Malaysia. I have also been instrumental part of a participatory action research on elimination of Gender Based Violence with WAGAR (Women and Girls At risk) of Refugee communities in Malaysia, in partnership with refugee women groups, UNSW, University Malaya, Asylum Access Malaysia, and Malaysian Social Research Institute (MSRI). I am currently (starting in 2023) pursuing Ph.D. at School of Counseling, Social Work, and Human Service University of Auckland, New Zealand. I am researching on Refugee community psychoeducation on trauma, emotional dysregulation, gender beliefs, and environmental factors to reduce Gender-Based Violence (GBV) perpetration and victimization among refugee & asylum seekers in Malaysia, under supervision of Prof. Jay Marlowe and Dr. laura Chubb.
