(You might think) But actually, that was ‘the appropriate’ way to get your attention.Yes, The appropriate way. And here’s why I did that here:Your average attention span today is around 8s-10s.(Which is less than a goldfish’s 9s) People, in the past, had it around 12-15 minutes.And that is the reason most storytellers in the past would use long contexts of stories.But today, From a startup to unicorns,From a school speech to United Nations’ address,From a small shop opening to iPhone’s latest launch,Everyone uses attention grabbers. And only then they build their narrative. So the point is that you have to use,Appropriate WORDS or Appropriate THOUGHTS at the appropriate time. Does that first line above makes me a Joker? No. Rather, till now you have already forgotten it.But, it made you read or in other words listen to my narrative till here. And No, ‘attention grabbing’ is not all what you need. Rather, it is just one little part of narrative building.Your Personal Brand is all about building your Personal Narrative. And that requires the disruptive and appropriately placed thoughts. And then those thoughts make you an industry/thought leader.
