As an ex-student who was forced to drop out of university due to mental health issues, I have developed an interest in the psychological well-being of (young) students. Due to my knowledge of business, acquired at one of the world-leading universities in that field, the Rotterdam School of Management, I combined my interests and founded DeltaBijles. DeltaBijles primarily focuses on homework guidance (or huiswerkbegeleiding in Dutch) while acting as an outlet for the students we assist with their homework. Destigmatising and normalising mental health at such a young age is paramount, and by simply talking to our students about their well-being, we actively try to assist in that mission. As we see our students at least twice per week in a somewhat informal setting, we have noticed students feeling increasingly confident to open up to us.Apart from that, DeltaBijles aims to use innovative methods in which university students can actively partake in education at secondary school level. So far, we have supplied close to 100 students, who have all worked at a secondary school for some time.As my interest lies in innovating education and mental health, I am always open to learn more about this subject!
