After completing my education at West Virginia University, I relocated to Winchester, Virginia to teach first grade. Throughout the next seven years, I continued to learn more about the education field and began to take on leadership roles. I enrolled in James Madison University and completed the School Administration Certification Program. The next step in my career was a move outside of the classroom. Instead of working with students directly, I began to work with teachers. As an Intervention Resource teacher, I worked directly with classroom teachers in order to assist them with implementing a variety of instructional techniques. I provided staff development and training on data analysis for problem identification. I also assisted with gathering and analyzing appropriate classroom data. After one year in this position, I made the move into school administration. I served in the role of Assistant Principal for 8 years. In this role I was responsible for assisting the school principal in the leadership, coordination, supervision and management of the school program and operation.I am now working part-time at WGU and working to support my family’s business, Medipak. I also am now a Virginia Licensed Real Estate agent.
