I was responsible for the design, illustration, and layout of issues 4, 5, and 6 of Cambalache Magazine, a University of Santiago de Chile publication dedicated to making complex scientific concepts fun and accessible for young people. I created engaging layouts and original illustrations, ensuring an appealing design for children between 8 and 12 years old. This involved a crucial element of translating technical scientific content into engaging visuals for a young audience. I also collaborated with researchers, conducting workshops on visual science communication and storytelling to help them effectively convey their research to a wider audience. My responsibilities included refining proposals, enhancing clarity and visual appeal, designing the magazine's layout, and creating illustrations for each article, ensuring a cohesive and engaging visual experience for readers.

Permanent illustrator for science-themed courses on Lifeology, a platform created by LifeOmic. This community space brings together scientists, health experts, artists, and writers to create mobile-friendly mini-courses on scientific topics that can reach anyone.

I was involved in the design and development of educational products for STEAM learning, focusing on instructional design, layout, graphics, and overall product image. Specifically, I worked with Arduino to create interactive learning tools that functioned as mini-laboratories.One example is "Adivina binario" (Guess the Binary), a mini-laboratorie designed to teach students about binary code in an engaging way. This involved Instructional Design, Hardware Development, and Visual Design.Another project was the Sistema de Riego Automatizado (Automated Irrigation System). This hands-on project allowed students to:- Learn basic electronics and programming: Students assembled and programmed an Arduino-based system to control the watering of plants automatically.- Understand real-world applications: This project demonstrated how technology can be used to solve practical problems in agriculture and environmental management.- Develop problem-solving skills: Students had to troubleshoot any issues that arose during the assembly and programming phases.These projects were designed to be used in an Engaging Classroom setting, which emphasizes collaborative learning and simulates a real-world work environment. This involved assigning students different roles and responsibilities, such as: Project Manager, Hardware Engineer, Programmer, Designer and Documentation Specialist.By working together in these roles, students gain valuable experience in teamwork, communication, and problem-solving, preparing them for the demands of the modern workplace.

I was responsible for the design and illustration of the experiment books "Con las manos en la ciencia" (With Hands in Science) for both Book I (published in 2020) and Book II (published in 2021). I developed visuals that complemented the scientific concepts and experiments, aiming to engage young readers and enhance their understanding of the material. This included diagrams, step-by-step illustrations of the experiments, and imaginative artwork to capture the children's interest.Worked on the book's visual appeal, ensuring clarity and readability. This involved selecting appropriate fonts, designing page layouts, and creating a cohesive visual identity for the series.Worked closely with the authors and editors to ensure the illustrations accurately reflected the scientific content and met the pedagogical goals of the books. Participating in discussions about the content and revising the illustrations based on feedback.As the books were aimed at children, I focused on creating illustrations that were both informative and engaging, using a vibrant color palette and a playful style to capture their attention.This project involved a significant amount of work and dedication, requiring me to combine my artistic skills with a strong understanding of scientific concepts to create visually appealing and educational resources for young learners.
