JÖST Germany is a leading multinational OEM’s known for the design & manufacturing of industrial vibratory machines. After having been present in the Southern African market since the 1970’s via a licensee, JÖST decided to found its own African subsidiary, JOEST Vibrating Systems (Pty) Ltd, with JÖST and I being shareholders.My duties included establishment of an operational entity, brand awareness, sourcing local partners (manufacturing, service & repair, third party sales channels, etc.). JOEST Vibrating Systems was incorporated to capture the aftermarket of equipment manufactured and installed by the pervious licencee as well as to expand its footprint in Africa with new capital equipment.I identified KFJ Steel as a potential manufacturing arm early in 2013 which resulted in the majority equity being acquired by JÖST, effective mid 2013. KFJ Steel became a local “sister company” of JOEST. Under JOEST's guidance, it manufactured the complete range of vibrating machines and also provided repair facilities to drives and previously installed products. All equipment were manufactured and repaired under full license of JÖST. We managed to capture all 5 revenue streams (spares, repairs, site services, capital equipment and commission) within 12 months of effectively becoming operational.Within a very short space of time JOEST became a listed vendor with most of the blue chip mining companies, foundries as well as EPCM / engineering companies.

Full bottom line responsibility for the African business unit, including subsidiaries. Lead and manage the business activities of the company in Africa to achieve the agreed strategic, business, financial and operational goals in line with policies and procedures. This needed to be executed by working as part of a global team, delivering the best outcome for the overall company while simultaneously growing the African business. Responsible for general leadership, management & taking to market Ludowici's range of core, as well as niche, technologies for minerals beneficiation applications in various commodities and industries.Strict ethical standards needed to be maintained while complying with all legal requirements of the relevant African country and in doing so build and maintain a sustainable and viable business.
