InstructorStanford University School Of Medicine 2015 - PresentStanford, CaResiding in the Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine and the Sean Parker Allergy Center, Dr. Fan-Minogue's research focuses on understanding the immune mechanism of asthma and food allergy via single cell-based genomics technologies and immuno-informatics approaches. -
Bioinformatics ResearcherStanford University School Of Medicine 2011 - 2015System Medicine, Dept. Of Pediatrics• Mining public databases (e.g. TCGA and GEO) for identification of Cancer Stem Cell (CSC) biomarkers. • Developed systematic approaches to integrate and analyze multiple high throughput cancer genomics data. • Identified CSC specific, functional and targetable biomarkers. • Experimentally validated candidate biomarkers for development of new cancer therapeutics and/or repurposing existing drugs.• Identifying true adverse drug events in narrative clinical reports. • Applied negation-finding algorithm, Context, to the free-text description of patient history to identify true neuropathy event in a cohort of patients from the Oncoshare database, a dedicated database for breast cancer patients at Stanford and PAMF -
Stanford Molecular Imaging FellowStanford University School Of Medicine 2007 - 2011Department Of Radiology• Molecular imaging of oncogenic signaling. • Developed optical imaging sensors that noninvasively detect and monitor protein-protein interaction, the central component of biological signaling pathways, and real-time quantitate the onset and alteration of intracellular pathways upon oncogenic signal induction or anti-tumor drug treatment. • Established a c-Myc sensor based High Throughput system that allows quick and high volume screening for compounds against c-Myc oncoprotein. • Acquired drug response datasets were analyzed against MDL Assay Explorer database and public ChEMBL chemical database for identification of potential novel effects of the top hits. -
Phd CandidateThe University Of Alabama At Birmingham 2002 - 2007Department Of Microbiology• Understanding the molecular mechanism of eukaryotic translation termination: functional analysis of ribosomal RNA (rRNA) and eukaryotic release factor 1 (eRF1). • Applied both forward and reverse genetic approaches to understand the molecular mechanism of translation termination using Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a genetic model. • Studied the structural difference of ribosome upon release factor binding between different low eukaryotic species using 3D structure modeling. • Identified new functional insights of rRNA in eukaryotic translation termination and the molecular mechanism of stop codon recognition by eRF1. -
Md CandidatePeking Union Medical College 2001 - 2002• Targeted gene therapy of tumor cells. • Constructed and purified fusion proteins (potential therapeutic drugs) and tested in vitro cancer cell culture. • Obtained specific and increased killing effect on tumor cells. • Supported by national sciences foundation and applied for patent.
