Fan is an architect with a structural engineering background, who is always seeking solutions for contemporary relationships between individuals and the city by design, providing sustainable and innovative living experiences. He is also a travel fever and likes to use lenses to capture his perspective of contemporary living experiences. A large amount of photographs have been collected and some of which were awarded by different academic organizations. To name a few, he had won second place of “Historic Building Photo Contest” Co-operated by the School of Architecture, Tsinghua University in 2010, top 10 of “International Experience in Focus: Photo from our lives” photo contest by University at Buffalo in 2011, and Honorable Mention for OHNY 2013 Focus on Architecture Competition. During his study of Architecture in University at Buffalo, Fan had showed his keen sense of his design ability and ways to communicate the temporal aspects of the ideas. Having had an overall perspective and in-depth research experiences in material culture and situated technology, together with his excellent observation and strong visual skills, his focus was on exploring the design possibilities of people and new technology, people and building materials, as well as how design could embrace the idea of individual also being an active civic member.
