We are conducting original research into public health topics revolving around low-value medical care, health care waste, and corruption within healthcare institutions.

I collaborated with undergraduates, medical students, and physicians on a project investigating the transradial approach for percutaneous coronary intervention. The radial approach in transcatheter intervention has a superior safety profile over the standard transfemoral approach (see attached PDF). Using Centricity Workspace Software, I worked specifically in making radial artery measurements from retrospective angiograms to determine average radial artery diameter in American patients. I also worked extensively in co-authoring two separate case reports in interventional cardiology. These case reports each highlight separate novel techniques and imaging in coronary intervention. These reports are pending publication.

As a board member, I help to create, plan and implement programs that aid new students and their parents in their academic, social, and personal transition to Washington University. I am also responsible for the recruitment, selection, training, and supervision of a team of Student Associates who serve as resources for new students and their parents.

I served as a summer intern for the Health and Wellness Department at World Relief Chicago directly assisting the medical case manager. In this position, I worked directly with refugee clients in gathering intake for health and wellness services, applying for public aid and social security benefits, navigating public transport to and from appointments, offering prompt and supportive communication to staff and volunteers, and making monthly phone contact and home visit with specific refugees to assess needs for additional services.

I formed part of an undergraduate team of volunteers that recruits patients at Barnes Jewish Hospital for clinical trials being run by the company Epharmix.

As a hostess, I greeted guests upon arrival and provided customer service. Additional responsibilities included: answering telephones, coordinating reservations, and arranging accommodations for large groups.
