Farah Council Email and Phone Number
Farah Council, MA weaves together a praxis of equity and anti-racism, conflict transformation and somatic awareness to catalyze meaningful change at individual, group, and organizational levels. Farah has a private practice that includes consulting and advising teams and leaders in addressing power and dominance in workplace culture, leadership coaching, and somatic stewarding with individuals and groups using a trauma-sensitive approach grounded in neurobiology to develop body awareness with an intentional focus on how dominance and marginalization are held in and expressed from the body. She is the Deputy Director of Organization Effectiveness at a New Mexico-based policy change non-profit and has an extensive background in nonprofit management, program management and evaluation, and policy advocacy. Farah held an adjunct faculty position at the SIT Graduate Institute teaching on inclusion and peacebuilding, and directed women’s inclusion efforts in peace negotiations in Sudan and South Sudan for the Institute for Inclusive Security for nearly a decade, working directly with heads of state, the United Nations, the US Department of State, and the African Union. She holds an MA in Conflict Transformation, a BA in Political Science, and is trained in yoga therapy and Integral Somatic Psychology. Her deep purpose centers on healing from whiteness in the world, informed by a life-long reckoning with her own family legacy, work abroad and domestically, and now, working in a body-based manner to help deepen self-awareness and more whole-bodied listening for white folks. She spends quite a lot of time in nature with her dogs, learning to listen, live, play, and deepen a sense of relationality with the world and others.
