Did print design for the company’s advertising, internal, and trade show needs. Did UX design for the platform site and helped handle social media.

My job at The WIN was a bit more than a Graphic Designer. I also became the Web Content Manager and was responsible for not only creating web pages but also directing a small team of people as to what should be on the sites, and helping to manage their deadlines. This job also involved traveling and participating in conventions such as Global Women’s Summits and the 100th Anniversary of International Women’s Day. I was the only Graphic Designer, and created all of the websites and printed materials for the company and their events. For the websites, I worked with a Drupal programmer who handled the back-end while I handled the graphics and content for many different offshoots of the company.

I handled all of the internet marketing, including building www.ogdenchrome.com from scratch and installing all content on the site, and handled SEO for the company via Twitter, Facebook, and HubGarage. I also served all Graphic Design purposes, designing all materials for print, including large banners, posters, forms, flyers, business cards, letterhead, envelopes, packaging and various other print needs, some unusual. Also handled dealing with print vendors and creative problem solving.

I was hired at AlphaGraphics with no previous (professional) design experience based on word-of-mouth on projects I’d done for friends. AlphaGraphics was a sort of “boot camp” for Graphic Design...I learned all of the Adobe programs here from the ground up through their corporate training program and hands-on experience. I handled hundreds of different high-profile clients in a high-pressure, fast turnaround environment. Most meeting with clients were face-to-face, and I learned quickly how to listen in the most effective way to be able to meet the client’s wishes. This job was 100% print design, and I learned how to design for practically anything a client could come up with. Also learned all pre-press duties, including color separations, printing plates, etc, and even sometimes ran the printers as well. Also helped out in bindery and the front desk when needed.
