About Faran Arshad Chohan
A Concerned Father for Future Generations? A Marketer turned Sustainability Consultant? A LEED AP? Faran, what the Fluff? Here is my chronicle:I was born in the late 90s, in a backward village surrounded by water streams, tall trees, and serene landscapes. I was enjoying my childhood and then I got a crime partner in the form of a younger brother. When our giggles were rejuvenating a life around us, destiny strike, and it stroked hard. My younger brother became asthmatic; he couldn’t breathe in dust, smog, and poor-quality air. Due to my curious nature, I dug into his problem and found that these airborne dust, poor quality of air, and smog are all man made. I also found that it is not just my younger brother, in fact 11.5% of sisters, brother, son, and daughters worldwide are suffering due to poor air quality. That was the moment I changed my career path from a Marketing Strategist to a Sustainability Consultant in built environment to hit the system where it will have a major impact. Fast forward, after two decades I had to move to Saudi Arabia leaving him behind. I do miss him, but I have a purpose to serve. If I stayed behind, I could see him smiling; However, I’m also concerned for 11.5% of brothers/sisters worldwide. I also know that my part is very negligible, However, I’m playing it and will continue to do so with your support & collaboration. So far, I have been exercising my knowledge, expertise, and dedication for LEED v3, v4, and v4.1 in terms of credit compliance, design consultation, prerequisites planning, and documents for LEED Online Submission. I have delivered high profile LEED projects in Saudi Arabia; STC Smart Square (6 Individual Projects), Red Palace Restaurant, and Sofitel Hotel Project; just to name few. With LEED v5 on the horizon, I’m focused on advancing decarbonization, biodiversity, and the well-being of communities. My expertise in Carbon Assessment, Climate Resilience Assessment, Social Impact Assessment, Energy Modeling, LCA, Construction Waste, and Indoor Air Quality aligns with my passion for building resilient environments that will benefit both people and the planet (Just the tip of Iceberg). Through LEED certification, I aim to ensure a breathable and sustainable future for the next generation. Thus, people don’t have to see their loved one breathless in a contaminated environment.
