Matt Farber is a veteran media and entertainment executive, entrepreneur, and consultant with a proven track record of developing content businesses for new platforms Currently, Matt is an artist manager and producer focusing on a “gay-ish” demographic. Matt currently produces the popular Outlandish live performance series in Fort Lauderdale, Palm Springs, and Provincetown. His clients include acts iconic in the LGBT community, including Randy Rainbow, Margaret Cho, John Waters, Coco Peru, Fran Drescher, and Miss Richfield. Recently he co-founded StreamAlly, a ticketing/studio platform for virtual events. Earlier in his career, Matt owned and operated a collection of media assets targeting the LGBT demographic. In 2001, Matt founded the Logo cable network, selling it to Viacom and spearheading programming and business development leading to its launch in 2005. He then expanded into radio, music, and digital media creating Twist, a syndicated radio show acquired by iHeart Media; started an imprint label with Sony Music signing multi-platinum acts, including Gossip and Kathy Griffin; and launched Gwist, a YouTube network funded in part by Google Labs. In addition, Matt spent 25 years as a successful media executive. Most recently, he consulted digital video publishers, including Conde Nast Entertainment, AMC Networks, and Livestream (Vimeo) on strategy, content, and business development/strategic partnerships. He spent a decade at MTV, starting in television programming and then became MTV’s first digital chief building a $50M business leading all online and convergent content initiatives. He also served as General Manager of MTV2, developing a local and digital strategy to grow distribution, and creating the industry’s first 360-degree programming initiatives. As Executive Vice President of Programming for Fuse, Matt oversaw content across all platforms for the cable network. In addition to corporate roles, Farber was CEO of digital music creation and discovery platform Tonos, raising $17M in funding from Softbank and Sequoia and developing the first karaoke app. Matt currently serves on the board of the Pride Center at Equality Park in Fort Lauderdale, and Invictus, an organization that provides job training for young adults with autism. He was a long-time board chair of Bailey House, a leading New York City supportive housing provider, and served as a mentor/advisor for Entrepreneurs Roundtable Association, a tech start up incubator. Farber graduated summa cum laude from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
