  • Innovative Micro Technology
    Program Manager
Innovative Micro Technology Sep 2008 - Aug 2011
    Santa Barbara, Ca, Us
I managed several multi-disciplined MEMS projects at the development stages to meet cost, schedule and technical performances. In addition I supervised a group of engineers and technicians to achieve these goals. I closely collaborated with our strategic business partners during design, fabrication and testing of the products and transfer to production. Some of the key projects included:- A novel implantable micropump for drug delivery applications, consisting of 4 bonded silicon and glass wafers stack, utilizing fusion, anodic and polymer bonds. - MEMS gyroscope consisting of 3 bonded wafers stack with high vacuum wafer level packing (WLP) method.- 3-Dimensional high energy density Li-ion microbattery, consisting of high aspect ratio plasma etched silicon structures with critical sidewall quality, optimized by using DOE.- RF tunable capacitors and switches utilizing high-aspect-ratio electroplated silver electrodes.- Optical chip for EUV lithography applications, consisting of large fragile nitride membranes with 0.5 microns line and spacing.- Large stroke deformable mirror for adaptive optics, consisting of 4 electroplated gold layers.- High performance multi layered electroplated probes for probe cards.
  • Innovative Micro Technology
    Process Development Engineer
Innovative Micro Technology Oct 2006 - Aug 2008
    Santa Barbara, Ca, Us
As a hands-on lead process engineer in this foundry environment, I quickly got engaged in multiple projects at initial development stages. To meet the customers' demands, I implemented innovative integration techniques and fabricated variety of micro-devices including resonator gyroscope, RF switch, and biomedical devices. I also collaborated on several company-wide accelerated development efforts which led to high volume production of a MEMS mirror and switch array. In addition, I closely collaborated with customers during design and layout generations as well as weekly oral presentations and written progress reports.
  • Ucla
    Graduate Student Researcher
    Ucla Sep 2001 - Sep 2006
    Los Angeles, Ca, Us
As the graduate student in the MEMS group, I gained extensive hands-on microfabrication and silicon wafer processing skills in the Nano Research Facilities of UCLA. My main project required designing a photo-assisted silicon electrochemical etching setup (porous silicon etching) and optimizing the fabrication of high aspect ratio trenches in silicon for battery fabrication applications. I developed novel techniques to fabricate 3-dimensional lithium-ion and alkaline microbatteries. I worked in a multidisciplinary environment and closely collaborated with researchers in departmentsof Chemistry and Materials Science to develop the novel battery architectures.
  • Pentair
    Project Engineer
    Pentair Jun 1999 - Sep 2000
    London, Gb
Before starting graduate studies at UCLA, I worked at the R&D department of Pentair Pool Products Inc. (formerly PacFab) and got involved in developing new injection molding products for pool and spa systems, includingh filters, heaters and pumps. I was able to learn ProEngineer and ProMechanica Cad tools in a short period of time and apply them for design optimization of the plastic parts.
  • Sazeh Consultants
    Project Engineer
    Sazeh Consultants Sep 1997 - Mar 1999
    Tehran, Tehran, Ir
During my graduate studies in Iran, I worked as a part time project engineer in this consulting firm and got engaged in designing pressure vessels for petrochemical plants. I was able to apply my solid mechanical engineering knowledge in practical use and large industrial scale. I learned about ASME boiler and pressure vessel codes in a short period of time. I also got to learn about project scheduling and delivery goals in a collaborative environment, working with piping and process engineers.
