My position as an RA was multi-faceted. I was a member of a team of 15 people whereby each member supervised a particular (approx.) 30-person floor in a 500 person-building. I embodied a student role model for freshmen college students and was a primary resource and referral point for a wide variety of needs, particularly in the areas of mental, social, physical and academic health.I planned and hosted numerous events that were fun, memorable, informative and budget-friendly.I served a rotational overnight duty to handle any exigent circumstances that needed resolving. I had the pleasure of working with university police on a number of incidents and developed strong mediation and social problem-solving skills as a result. Incidents for which I played a key role involved roommate mediation, suicidiality referral, Title IX offenses, physical violence, verbal abuse, drunkeness, blackouts, robbery and crowd control.
