Dr. Farhad Saba received his Ph.D. in Materials science and engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM) in 2017. Furthermore, he received B.S. degree in Materials Science and engineering from FUM in 2009 and also received his M.S. degree in the same field from University of Tehran in 2013. During Ph.D., he joined Southeast University (Nanjing, China) and worked for 6 months as a short research visitor in 2015. His PhD thesis focused on ‘’pulsed current field assisted surface modification of carbon nanotubes with nanocrystalline titanium carbide and using them as reinforcing agents in Al matrix composites’’. He has published around 20 articles in high-level/high-impact journals including SCRIPTA MATERIALIA, CARBON, CERAMICS INTERNATIONAL, COMPOSITES PART A, RSC ADVANCES and so on. His research interest lies in the functionalization of nanostructured materials, specifically carbon nanotubes, and their application as reinforcements in metal matrix composites (MMCs).
