As a worker at the horticultural greenhouse, my job is to oversee the progress of the vertical farming setup which is being to determine the impact of different lighting spectrums and EC levels on the growth of various kinds of lettuce.Having been involved in the research setup since its onset, I was involved in the design and assembly of the vertical farm. I conducted tests on components such as reservoirs, pipes and trays to identify and repair water leakages, creating a more efficient farming system. More recently, my routine tasks include carrying out EC and pH checks to ensure the setup adheres to specifications, and taking any corrective actions if necessary.

As an engineering intern, my main aim was to utilize my engineering and horticulture background to improve productivity in the vertical farming setup. I was responsible for optimizing the variables that had a direct impact on our crop yields. At the SG Hi-Tech Agriculture, I worked to optimize various variables such as CO2 levels, temperature, air flow and water quality which led to a 30% increase in Kale and Lolo Rosso lettuce yields. I also gathered quantifiable data related to energy consumption in the farm to conduct cost analysis and eventually determine company profits. I also initiated data logging and data analysis practices through Microsoft Excel to keep track of weekly yields. Lastly, I utilized a light sensor to determine correlation between LED lighting spectrum and lighting intensity and crop yields.

For the academic year 2017 - 2018, I held the position of Treasurer at the only nationally recognized Industrial Engineering Honor's Society.I was responsible for preparing the club’s budget and ensuring club activities adhere to the budget and maintaining accurate financial records to be reviewed at any time by the administration.In addition to observing the conventional duties of a treasurer, I was involved in hosting events for the organization and devising strategies to increase member turnout.
