I completed my Ph.D. with industry on drug development for traumatic brain injury, I worked at the Max Planck Institute of Neurobiology in Munich and DZNE in Bonn, where I uncovered the relevance of manipulating cytoskeleton to promote axonal regeneration after spinal cord injury and with Ali Erturk I contributed to the development of optical tissue clearing and imaging by light-sheet microscopy. I then moved to the Institute for Stroke and Dementia Research to investigate neuronal network remodeling after a stroke. I am currently deputy director at the Institute of Technology and Regenerative Medicine (iTERM) headed by Prof. Erturk at Helmholtz Munich. I am fond of Science yes, but also Social Anthropology, French cuisine & baking.
