I was involved in deployment resourcing and project management of various new development proposals. This involved managing the smooth operation of projects from inception through to completion. Part of this function was evaluating the masterplanning issues from concept design through to detailed design and ensuring key development principles were sustainable.

Providing a management consultancy role, I was been responsible for urban planning & Consents matters. Specific projects included West London Tram, Shortlands Transport & Works Order (Phase 1 CTRL), West Coast Main Line Transport & Works Order, South Central Franchise and numerous telecommunication projects. Duties involved urban planning/land use and Consents advice to project/design/build teams, urban design input, submission of large detailed planning applications, preparation of planning appeal statements, liaison with key stakeholders in the pursuit of project consents, and project management roles including management of external consultants and tender reviews. I have utilised my considerable urban planning skills to help to integrate transport proposals into existing urban frameworks with the minimum of impact. This has also involved considerable contribution to the advancement and development of UDP Policies connected with the advancement of major transport infrastructure projects. This involved both preparing draft policies and attending Planning appeals as an expert witness on the same.

I was employed on the West Coast Mainline upgrade project. My duties involved contributions towards the submission of a Transport & Works Order, project management of various items of work, including Level Crossings and Auto transformers, general town planning and consents advice to the project teams and management of external consultants. I advised the project on overall masterplanning integration of development proposals on the environment and contributed to preparing policy briefs for Local Authority information and for general consultation. I was involved in working committees with LPA's on the development of UDP Policies and Planning briefs for the facilitation of the project.

Working on a contract basis, I was employed within a Development Control team responsible for the full range of D.C duties. This included the assessment of large/small scale town planning applications including housing proposals, local plan representations, undertaking planning appeal work. I was also involved in preparing Local Master Plans and ensuring they complemented the future provision for development.

I worked on the Channel Tunnel Rail Link project advising the project team on all urban planning issues. My main duties involved town planning submissions of detailed matters (i.e. landscaping, traffic details, finishes). I had considerable liaison with key statutory bodies such as the Local Planning Authorities and external bodies such as Kent County Council, English Heritage and the Environment Agency. In addition, I was involved in key communication/consultation strategies for disseminating information to local communities.

I was employed within a busy inner city Development Control team responsible for the full range of D.C duties. This included the assessment of large/small scale town planning applications, local plan representations and Policy development, undertaking planning appeal work, and enforcement duties.
