I am passionate about developing and improving systems that remove barriers and allow students to reach their full potential. As a Project-Based Learning teacher, I found myself advocating for the unique academic, social, and emotional needs of my students, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds. I collaborated with colleagues on data-driven initiatives to improve students' experiences and outcomes across our district. I realized that solutions to issues in education are expansive, and are necessary from a local to federal level—leading me to pursue my MPP in Education Policy at Vanderbilt University. In all these spaces, my "why" has remained constant — I believe that all students deserve the tools, resources, and experiences to thrive. At Indianapolis Public Schools, I hope to help educators, community leaders, and dedicated stakeholders ensure positive learning experiences and opportunities for all students.
