Accounting Manager - Intn'L (Latin America)
CurrentPublicly Traded Company in the US (Global revenue US$ 6B)(This is a Mini CFO role for 3 countries of Latin America)Managing team & third-party accounting firms in North & Latin AmericaAccounting, Financial Reporting, Treasury, Internal Controls & Taxes: Planning monthly disclosure checklist for accounts closing & assigning work to the team members. Monitoring periodic funds availability in the banks to ensure liquidity in different countries. Keeping eye on the excess cash availability to keep the funds on time deposits. Ensuring all modules have completed entries of the period prior to accounts closing. Supervision & cross departmental coordination to complete cross-country Intercompany invoices. Coordination with other departments to obtain accruals for various expenses such as salary, bonus, marketing etc. Monthly Value Added Tax calculation validation as per local laws & reports by the third-party. Verification with the third party on withholding taxes on Intercompany fee, royalties & interests. Review inventory control & logistics departments for release of freight & export documents. Coordination with country managers for fixed assets capitalization & analysis. Monitoring bank balances, accounts receivables & coordination with Receivables team on doubtful debts provision. Inventory spoils reserve provision for raw material & finished goods. Ensuring policies & SOPs for revenue recognition. Supervision of amortization of various prepaid expenses including, sponsorships, insurance & legal. Annual external audit planning & coordination with auditors & third parties in various countries. Corporation Income Tax calculation validation for different countries as per local laws. Review, analysis & approval from CFO for Local vs US GAAP accounts reconciliation. Reconciliation & analysis of sales orders vs revenue recognition during the month. Country by country report preparation in consultation with assigned audit firm.
