I am a passionate, award-winning, multilingual, television correspondent, digital journalist, and Docuseries Co-Executive Producer, Executive Producer, field/research/casting producer with extensive experience in local, international, investigative, war reporting and multi-platform storytelling. I specialize in creating transformative, character driven, creative unscripted storytelling. I bring a diverse experience grounded in emotional, high impact work in several genres including True Crime, misinformation/disinformation, immigration, politics, race, diverse communities, social justice, terrorism, extremism and conflict journalism.My track record includes producing and managing small and large crews for one of the most watched longest running True Crime shows. I also managed crews on impactful, exclusive stories from the southern to the northern border and around the world. I’ve worked in Florida, Montana, Missouri, Nebraska, Texas, Minnesota and California. I was born in Africa, went to school in London and Canada. In 2018, I left the U.S. to cover the Syrian war and refugees escaping to the Syria/Lebanon border. In Feb. 2017, I was the only reporter in the Midwest, to travel to Kenya and Somalia to tell stories of refugees, the travel ban, terrorism and the worst famine/drought since WW II. In 2016, my worldwide exclusive interview with a Minnesota terrorist convicted for helping ISIS was distributed worldwide and made international headlines. I’ve reported on guns, drugs, money, cartels undocumented children, sex trafficking and immigration on the U.S. Mexico border. Our work ignited congressional hearings. My investigative exclusives on gang infiltration in Omaha were distributed at FBI headquarters.I covered riots and protests in Ferguson and other cities across the country. My I-phone video of rioters breaking into stores after the grand jury verdict in Ferguson in Nov. 2014 went viral. My photojournalist and I were first to report on criminals torching Ferguson. I broke stories of corruption and Justice Department investigations after the Ferguson unrest. My extensive reporting on sex trafficking was considered for a national advocacy story at TEGNA. Eight journalists and I were chosen to travel to Pakistan in 2013 during Taliban violence. We were privy to State Department deep background debriefs. My Pakistan stories were nominated for an Emmy. I also went to The Balkans to understand Bosnian immigration to St. Louis. My work won Murrows and Emmys. I’m a member of IRE, SAJA, NABJ, SAG-AFTRA, NAHJ and a mentor to other journalists.
