Working closely with the CTO / COO and CEO my role as director of engineering and product at ApptionLabs is focused on developing and executing the roadmap for R&D and maintenance of existing products through their entire lifecycle. Starting out as the 4th employee of ApptionLabs Ltd, my role has grown alongside the company which now hires more than 50 people internationally. Starting as the sole test engineer responsible for the testing of Android, iOS, Web, Firmware and Hardware projects. Over time I have grown the testing team and also taken charge of the project management for Web, App, HW and Testing. My responsibilities have grown to include wire framing and speccing of projects. Planning the companies R&D roadmap, creating technical specifications for new features, managing the test plan creation and testing schedule of the testing team and assessing all bugs and features for assigning to sprints. Alongside this I continue to utilise the products for testing and spend considerable time documenting the functionality and engrained logic of our products and application that I have grown a deep understanding for over the course of my employment.In addition to all of the above I also strive to take on additional responsibilities such as becoming the registered DPO for ApptionLabs Ltd co-ordinating GDPR and data protection for the company.

After 5 months as a QA Automation tester with Plug and Play Design, my responsibilities grew to project management. Using the skills I have been developing during my time with the company my responsibilities have grown to include: > Dealing with clients, in person and via phone / email.> Managing developers during the project to ensure deadlines are met.> Creating mock up designs and wire frames to help understand client needs.> Budgeting and calculating costs based on client requirements.> Managing QA and bug fixing of complicated software products.> Writing technical specifications to detail project scope.Whilst doing this I am still maintaining my responsibilities as a QA automation tester, detailed below.

Working as a solitary tester in a team of 8 developers across different projects it is imperative that I manage my time wisely. My responsibilities were split between writing and maintaining a suite of Selenium / Geb tests for a groovy based CRM system and manually testing various Word Press / Magento and Joomla web applications. As the solitary tester I would conduct the UAT and live testing as well as document all bugs and be in constant communication with the developers when necessary.

My duties include UAT, dev and live manual testing for a school MIS and software company. I have been heavily involved in the developmentand writing up of new tests for freshly released software as well asregression testing. During this role I have worked closely withdevelopers, fellow testers and management to ensure the best possibleservice has been delivered to end users in a timely manner.On top of this I have been developing automated tests in my spare time for use within the company using Selenium Web driver and Java.

Duties included making and receiving client calls, web site maintenanceand production NEWCIS publications, dealing with petty cash, ITsupport and maintenance of the servers. I worked closely with clientsand staff solving day to day issues.

Duties included taking photos for camp events, customer service andsales. This involved working with children, parents and professionalphotography equipment.
