Throughout my time at Wake, I have spent three semesters conducting paid research with Dr. Kyle Luthy. During this time, I learned and practiced bringing an idea from a thought to a finished and functioning product. This process taught me crucial critical thinking skills, commitment to a project, the importance of benchmarking and background research, leadership, and teamwork skills, and provided opportunities to expand and sharpen my technical skills as a mechanical and electrical engineer. Additionally, I have gained industry experience, which I would not have been exposed to just in the classroom.

Worked for the past three summers at MacDuffs Pub Tahoe. Contributed and worked in all parts of the business including bartending, serving, running food, managing, taking calls, marketing, and catering/party planning. This position helped me develop crucial people and customer service skills, an increased understanding of how to run a business, and the importance of “team” in a work environment.
